IGI Esports attended the CS:GO Tournament, read details about the weekend including our final placement and who we played.

Welcome to our EPIC LAN 25 performance review.

IGI Esports attended the twenty seven team CS:GO tournament as seed eleven. The goal was to place top eight and worst case scenario to place eighth to eleventh.

IGI was drawn into Group C alongside top seed Ferrari Peekers and five other teams aiming to finish top four to qualify for the knockout stages.

The incentive in the group stages is to finish top two as third and fourth would be placed into the lower bracket of the knockout stages. The first two games went according to plan with 16-6 win over LANimals and a 16-6 win over Omen Esports.

Our next game was against Osterity Esports, this really was the game that was going to give IGI a top two finish in Group C but too many mistakes cost us badly losing the game 8-16. At this point we had to focus and get the job done and get to the knockout stages.

The final group games finished as follows. 16-2 against Blackout Gaming, 7-16 against Ferrari Peekers and 16-9 against Potshots

Group C Record: 4 wins 2 losses

To summarise the group stages, we were extremely gutted to lose to Osterity Esports but we qualified for the knockout stages and that's key.

Day one wasn't over.

Knockout stages commenced immediately after the group stage was completed and we got a tough draw against tenth seed KDR in a best of three match.

A solid performance was rewarded with a 2-0 victory with scores of 19-17 and 16-12 in a really close game

Every game from day two is always going to be difficult starting with a team who dropped down from the upper bracket in Exillium. Another close game with the final score 1-2 in favour of Exillium (Losing Nuke, Winning Mirage and losing Dust II).

Final Placement: 8th to 11th

Expected placement looking to exceed it by one place, not to be and plenty of lessons learned.

Huge shout out to our players this weekend.
